Navigating:
Find frameworks by grade and number. For example, to find framework 2.4 for fourth grade,
choose Grades 3-5 below or on the navigational menu above. Next scroll down the page until
you see "2. Engineering Design", then look under that header for number 4.
Changes to the Curriculum Frameworks:
In December 2000, the revised Massachusetts Science and Technology/Engineering Curriculum
Frameworks was approved by the Massachusetts Department of Education. The major changes from the previous version include:
- Standards are more specific, to enable teachers to design instruction and assessment more effectively.
- Grade spans have been narrowed.
- There are now four content strands (Earth and Space Science, Life Science, Physical Science, and Technology/Engineering)
and "Inquiry" is to be taught within each of the science domains.
